Procurement & Supply Chain Director

The client

Datacenter People is partnering with a French architectural and engineering design consultancy, specialists in designing, building and operating for the built environment, including data centers.

What the job involves 8 responsibilities

• The position covers allotment strategy, sourcing trade-offs, consultation structuring, contractual robustness and supply chain resilience.
• As such, it monitors working assumptions, pain points, upstream/downstream dependencies and transfer conditions to other project functions.
• The scope includes relationships with related disciplines, perimeter boundaries, and the consequences of its domain on the overall trajectory of the project.
• The perimeter must be understood as a specialized field, but fully integrated into a logic of system and overall coherence.
• Define policies by package; set arbitration thresholds; validate the consultation, negotiation and award scenarios; secure the contractual reference positions.
• Chair critical procurement reviews and challenge award recommendations, including critical equipment, long lead times, warranties and transferred responsibilities.
• Coordinate with TDI, Project Controls, Construction Delivery, Commissioning and legal advice to ensure consistency in commitments made on behalf of the project.
• The specific expectations relate to the ability to arbitrate between schedule pressure, market competition, contractual robustness and overall project security.

We are looking for someone with

• Higher education such as engineering, business school, contract law or equivalent;
• Highly proven experience in procurement strategy and contracting of major projects;
• Very good negotiation, contractual reading and commercial arbitration skills;
• Fluent French essential.
• Professional English required both written and oral, depending on the interface level of the position.
